By creating Nexenta Operating System we are trying to combine the best opensource technologies available on the market from the OpenSolaris Community, Debian/GNU Linux Project, and Ubuntu Linux. Our mission is to create highly reliable free and opensource operating system that scales well and runs smoothly on the enterprise hardware.

• OpenSolaris Core offers enterprise hardware support, rock solid stability, binary compatibility, and technologies like ZFS, DTrace, and OpenSolaris Containers.

• Debian/GNU Linux offers Advanced Packaging Tool, rock solid processes for package maintenance, and repository full of nicely integrated software components.

• Ubuntu Linux offers clean and nicely integrated desktop and repository of software components categorized according to the support needs of the customers, thus forming solid base of an operating system that can be commercially sustainable.
