Supermicro Super Storage Bridge Bay (SBB)

Added by Geoff Nordli about 1 year ago

Nexenta certifies the (http://www.nexenta.com/corp/newsflashes/86-2010/728-nexenta-announces-supermicro-partnership) the SuperMicro SBB (http://www.supermicro.com/products/nfo/sbb.cfm).

Does anyone have any experience with the system?

Does anyone know if that would work well with the Nexenta NCP version as well?

thanks,

Geoff

I saw that a while back and was interested. I'd think it would work just fine, though I don't think you can do active/active with it.

It supports active/active just like any other HA cluster architecture.

The device does, NCP doesn't, at least as far as I know.

I see, it looks like you need to use the NexentaStor product for the clustering support.

Is there another "certified" solution from SuperMicro which isn't clustered?

thanks,

Geoff

That SBB stuff is actually pretty good. Still, a 24 drive 2.5 inch SBB JBOD would have been nicer from a density perspective.
